it goes on and on and on and onnn
Oct. 27th, 2010 05:38 pmTonight I am leaving on a midnight train going anywhere to Chicago for my dad's 60th birthday! It's going to be somewhat bittersweet; my dad called yesterday to let me know that my cat is pretty sick and they're going to put her down, probably on Friday. She's 15, every time I've left for the past few years I've worried about this. I'm grateful that I'll be able to see her one last time.
In less sad news: when my face hasn't been about to explode from sinus pressure, I've been reading Diana Wynne Jones's Chrestomanci series. I really wish someone had handed these over when I was a kid, I would have been all over them. I mean, obviously I am now too, but. They would have gone well with Harry Potter when I was in middle school, is what I am saying. It's put Amazon into the habit of recommending some weirdly goofy books, though, which I can't support. Stop trying to make Hush, Hush happen, Amazon, it's not going to happen. For some reason the Kindle store doesn't stock all of the Chrestomanci books, so I stocked Never Let Me Go and Girl in Translation, though I can't guarantee that I won't just reread The King of Attolia six times.
